Out
They Came
© 2008 Tomás Ó Cárthaigh
Out from the water they came
they stood upon the land
Every bird, every person, every thing
Somewhere between Antartica and Galway.
Maybe twas between Galway and the North
Life waked from the great water
The birds jumped to the sky
And the mouth was open of the onlooker.
After that the flies flew
And cast their lives to the four winds
Shouting: look at me, Im free
Im like the birds, Im good.
The birds looked at the flies of the sky
Like them, they flew
Because they were jealous of the little flies
And they were hungry: they ate them!
