Scots “rummlegumption”
Rummle means “to rummage” around for something.
Gumption, which is used in some English varieties as well, might be translated
as “get-up-and-go.”
These
come together to give the idea of a person who is able to
find things out and sort things out. It could be translated as “common
sense.”
