Hebrew
kibbutz
This
word denotes an Israeli collective community, founded at a time when
independent farming (mainly in Israel) was not practical or, somewhat
more accurately, not practicable.
I love it because for some unknown reason I associate it with a “nest,” as
migrating birds build it when they come back to their place of
birth. So did many Jews after their long diaspora.
